Coconut Records’ “Nighttiming”
Whether it’s for his movies or his music, I’ve had a bit of a nerd crush on Jason Schwartzman since his Rushmore days. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Coconut Records, his most recent musical outfit, is a delicious piece of ear candy. Davy, the sophomore album, dropped earlier this year, and although it’s good enough it sort of just reminded me how much I loved Nighttiming, the debut. It’s a couple of years old by now, so by no means a cutting-edge new release, but the title song is a fun way to kick off a weekend. Enjoy!
