Sea of Japan - “Maxine”
As a transplanted Detroiter, I feel a special obligation to keep you abreast of some of my favorite local bands on the current scene, and Sea of Japan tops that list. Hailing from “Fashionable Ferndale,” the songs off of their Black Out the Stars have a delightfully dreamy, surprisingly delicate quality and come with a light sprinkling of trumpet.
