Handsome Furs - “I’m Confused”

Here at The Institute for the Preservation of Dance (aka dontforgettodance.com), we are always on the look out for new jams that invoke that primordial urge to cut-a-rug. Well, kind reader, the Handsome Furs new album Face Control is like wearing scissor shoes on an oriental carpet.

Described by frontman Dan Boeckner as “basically Wolf Parade without the guy that everybody likes and no real instruments”, Handsome Furs is an interesting counterpart to Wolf Parade co-frontman Spencer Krug’s solo projects with Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake. Whatever Handsome Furs is and isn’t, “face control” shouldn’t be the problem… it’s the “foot control” you have to worry about when that booty-shakin’ melody comes on.
