I didn’t realize that Dan Auerbach, frontman of The Black Keys, had released a solo album until today, when tracks from Keep It Hid were suddenly ALL OVER my satellite radio. Not that I’m complaining, doves. It’s some freakin’ cool stuff. Fans of The Black Keys should like it methinks, as it’s not too far of a diversion from what Auerbach typically does with his full band, although it is a slightly more mello reworking of the band’s sound. And though the title track isn’t really the best example of this softer side of Auerbach, it’s a pretty badass little number all the same.
