Army Navy - “My Thin Sides”
Since my last post was on something I hated, I figured I’d be nice and post next on something I love. That something is Army Navy. Their sound is quite sunny but with a dash of lyrical melancholy, and very, very danceable. Spin Magazine called their debut “…a splashy jangle of distorted guitars and winsomely defiant vocals- like Teenage Fanclub’s Bandwagonesque all jacked up on Mountain Dew.” And I concur. I could also listen to songs like “My Thin Sides” and “Saints” on a loop for days. (Providing, of course, that someone was kind enough to occasionally check in on me, providing me with the requisite sustenance…)
