Phantogram - Mouthful Of Diamonds

INTERGALACTIC PLANETARY, PLANETARY INTERGA…. oh wait. Wrong song. BUT KINDA LIKE THAT. This duo is not from New York, New York, but from New York. They’ll be in Brooklyn’s union Hall on Sept 11th.

It gets your body movin’ by the Suckers Not that any of you give a crap, but I am actually alive and still living amongst these socialists in France. Like Joe, I’m a bit surprised my posting rights have not yet been passed on to another. So here’s some live performance of ‘It gets your body moving’ by the Suckers. No idea what ‘It’ is but I kinda want a slice. Anyone catch this in Brooklyn a few months back? xoxo, Allen

Foreign Born - Early Warnings Here’s something for the summer. These guys are from L.A., so they’re not foreign born, but they are Foreign Born. Enjoy.

Delay Trees - “About Brothers”

This is a song about brothers. It comes off the debut album, Soft Construction, by Delay Trees. They are Finnish, obviously. Recommended for Sunday morning. Allen

Susan Boyle - “I Dreamed A Dream” (from Les Miserables) Matt said he was going to kick me out of the blog for not posting as much as I should. I’m not ready to be kicked out yet so here, enjoy Susan Boyle blowing your mind from Britain’s Got Talent, April 11 2009. It’s not rock. It’s not Indie. It’s not even an original song. But it’s pretty badass nonetheless. xoxo, A

Home Video - “Every Love That Ever Was”

Long story short - 2 guys meet in a High School art class. One into classical music, the other into 90’s music. They talk about music. They share the music they’re into with each other. They make a couple albums of music together. Then they offer their newest album, ‘It Will Be Ok’ for free on their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/homevideo

And no, that’s not Thom Yorke singing.

The Veils - “The Letter”

Getting released on April 6th 2009, The Veils’ Sun Gangs album could be a good listen… too bad I know nothing else about it. But check out their website anyway.

Lightspeed Champion - “Tell Me What It’s Worth”

Switching off the Germans to give some love to the British. Not sure it’s my favorite song from his 2008 album, “Falling Off The Lavender Bridge,” but it represents the kind of music you’ll find on it - lil country, lil pop, lil harmonizing lil childish. Nothing mind-blowing, but nothing much to hate either. Kind of. Just. There. Oh, and I never realized how cool blue capes are til I saw this vid.

If you want a challenge, try and listen to this entire 10-minute track from the same album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rMwc10uNOg. If you can’t stand the entire thing, at least listen to the melody between 4:40 and 7:10. It’s purty.

The Notwist - “Gloomy Planets (Live)” off of The Devil, You & Me album Because German indie rock bands need love too. These guys have apparently been around since ‘89 so pay your respects and turn this one up, kiddies. Loving the expression on the band member’s faces when the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra rocks out during the climax of the performance. www.notwist.com
